Providing a Critical Service
Many may be surprised to learn that Jasper County has rates nearly double the state average for child abuse and neglect. In fact, while the rate is slowing in other parts of the state, it alarmingly continues to increase in Southwest Missouri. We address this issue by providing free crisis care to any child, regardless of socio-economic categories or geographical boundaries, when parents are struggling with increased stress. Our vital role is as a safe haven for vulnerable children. As utilities are shut off, eviction notices posted, layoffs announced, Children’s Haven is a safety net to our community.
